The name Mirabella was chosen because it can be loosely translated from Italian as “beautiful vision,” which reflects Pacific Retirement Service’s goal of helping residents create a vision of their future that is bright, vibrant, and exciting.

First incorporated in 2007 and opened to residents in 2010, Mirabella Portland was the second Mirabella-brand Life Plan Community (formerly Continuing Care Retirement Community) developed by Pacific Retirement Services. It was designed with the vision in mind of allowing people to step into the best chapters of their lives—one where age is just a number and not something that defines who one is or how one feels.

In 2008, before it even opened, Mirabella Portland received the highest design honor, a Merit Award, from the American Institute of Architects (AIA) Design for Aging Review program.

Additionally, it has achieved the highest possible rating, a Platinum certification, through the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Green Building rating system, which is the nationally accepted benchmark for the design, construction, and operation of high-performance buildings. LEED promotes a whole-building approach to sustainability by recognizing performance in five key areas of human and environmental health: sustainable site development, water savings, energy efficiency, materials selection, and indoor environmental quality.

Pacific Retirement Services, Inc. (PRS) is a not-for-profit organization headquartered in Medford, Oregon, that was formally incorporated in 1991. Today PRS develops, operates, manages, and markets a family of nearly 60 retirement communities and service organizations in eight states across the United States. PRS has nearly 3,000 employees and provides housing and services to more than 7,000 seniors through its many affiliated organizations. PRS believes in quality care, and it shows in everything we do.
